Magic report: Roster
ARRIVALS
--F Quentin Richardson (free agent from Heat)
--G Chris Duhon (free agent from Knicks)
DEPARTURES
--F Matt Barnes (free agent, signed with Lakers)
--C Adonal Foyle (retired)
--G Anthony Johnson (not re-signed)
PLAYER NOTES
--C Marcin Gortat had a good summer of basketball with the Polish National team -- averaging 18 points, nine rebounds and two blocks -- but it wasn't enough in the qualifying round for EuroBasket 2011. Poland finished just fourth in its group qualifying round and lost the chance to qualify for next summer's event when it lost to Belgium in its final game.
--G Chris Duhon is playing in Orlando, but he spent an entire week at various fundraisers in Louisiana, making sure he remembered his hometown. Duhon is from Slidell, La. As part of his efforts, he hosted a golf tournament, a charity comedy show and various basketball camps.
--G Jason Williams will be returning to the Magic for a second season, but his role is expected to change significantly. The addition of Chris Duhon means that Williams likely will be demoted from backup to third string point guard, which means he might not even be part of the 12-man active roster on game night. Williams started 18 games last season when Jameer Nelson was out, and he played in all 82, averaging 20.8 minutes. As a free agent this summer, he considered other offers but returned for the NBA minimum of $1.35 million because he and his family made Central Florida their home years ago.
