--F Channing Frye continues to set career highs even after recovering from a dislocated shoulder. Frye had a career-best 32 points to go with 14 rebounds and played a career-high 57 of the 63 minutes Tuesday.
Frye was also clutch for the Suns. He hit three free throws with four seconds left to even the first overtime when Lamar Odom intentionally fouled him an instant after Frye's shooting motion began. Frye then added a go-ahead 3-pointer with 52 seconds left in the second overtime.
--G Steve Nash not only scored 19 points, but he dished out a season-high 20 assists in his 49 minutes on the floor. Nash did his scoring damage from behind the 3-point line, hitting five of seven from long range.
"It was a big loss," Nash said. "There is no other way to put it."
--G Vince Carter continues to be a drag on the Suns. He missed 16 of his 23 shots and 11 of his 13 3-pointers against the Lakers, including a chance to win the game at the end of regulation and an ill-advised shot in the third overtime.
The Suns were outscored by 20 points in Carter's time on the floor, but he remained out there. Even an average game by Carter would have put Phoenix over the top.
