--F James Johnson has wasted no time fitting right in with his new team. After being acquired Wednesday from Chicago for a first-round draft pick, the 6-9 Johnson made his second straight start with the Raptors on Friday.
He had six points and three rebounds in 27 minutes, playing despite not having a full practice with his new team yet.
"I don't think it's difficult at all when you have an organization behind your back," he said.
--G Jose Calderon is one of the best distributors in the NBA, among the league leaders in assists and leading the league in assist-to-turnover ratio.
But he hasn't taken more than nine shots in any of his last seven games and that's not good enough.
"Even if he misses shots, by shooting it and people knowing he's a good shooter, it'll stretch defenses for us. But right now, they're just playing off him," said coach Jay Triano, after Calderon went 0-for-3 from the field in Friday's loss to Phoenix.
--G Leandro Barbosa didn't fare too well in his first regular-season game against his old team.
The speedy backup guard did have 15 points in Toronto's 110-92 loss to Phoenix on Friday, but they all came in the fourth quarter against Suns backups and long after the outcome of the game had been decided.
