STATESBORO, Ga. -- Alli Smalley scored 12 of her 18 points in the second half to help No. 20 Auburn rout Georgia Southern 71-45 on Wednesday night. DeWanna Bonner added 11 points and freshman Chantel Hilliard had 10 for the Tigers (3-0). Sherrell Hobbs became the 24th Auburn player to reach the 1,000-point mark with a layup in the second half. Ashley Melson scored 12 points to lead Georgia Southern (2-1). Georgia Southern kept the game close for most of the first half before Auburn went on an 8-1 run to take a 36-27 lead into the locker room. The Tigers went on a 22-6 run to start the second half and put the game away. Smalley scored 10 points during the spurt.
