Oklahoma's Plumley suspended from team

NORMAN, Okla. -- Oklahoma women's basketball coach Sherri Coale says starting guard Jenna Plumley has been suspended from the team indefinitely following her arrest for petty larceny.

Coale said Thursday that Plumley will not participate in team activities during the upcoming season but will remain on scholarship.

Coale says concerns about Plumley culminated in a meeting within the past two weeks where a plan was outlined for what the program expected from her. Coale says Plumley did not meet those expectations.

Norman police say Plumley was stopped by security personnel at a Wal-Mart on Monday and accused of trying to steal makeup. The misdemeanor petty larceny charge carries a fine of between $50 and $750 and up to 60 days in jail.

Plumley is a 5-foot-4 guard who started all 31 games for Oklahoma last season and averaged 7.8 points.
