Cris Carter has some explaining to do
Here's what makes no sense about what Cris Carter says about bounties. He says he put them on opponents, but it wasn't with the intent of hurting anyone.
Huh?
If you put a bounty on an opponent, trust me, it's with the intent of hurting him. So Carter offered money to teammates to do what -- have them call opponents names, insult their mothers or tie their shoelaces? Please.
Either he offered bounties to hurt guys or he didn't. Simple as that.
When he did his mea culpea earlier this week, explaining how he put bounties on defensive players, citing Bill Romanowski as an example, he was pretty specific. One day later he wasn't, saying he needed to clarify things, which makes me think somebody told him that maybe it wasn't such a good idea to be talking about this.
So Carter changed his story and said he never intended to hurt anyone.
Yeah, sure. Someone has some explaining to do, and that someone is Cris Carter. He's the guy who trotted the subject out there. Now, he's the guy who must explain a disingenuous back-pedal.
