A rash of NFL players starring in reality shows has permeated the TV airwaves in recent years, from the high-brow (sorta) “Dancing with the Stars” to the low-end “T.O. Show” starring Terrell Owens, from the informative and entertaining “Hard Knocks” to the not-so-much “T. Ocho Show.”
Now, Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (last seen dancing the night away after the Super Bowl) are dipping their toes further into the entertainment world.
Following on the heels of Warren Sapp playing a judge in a new reality show, Suh and Gronkowski will participate in a celebrity dating show beginning June 7 on Fox called “The Choice.”
As the Detroit Free Press describes, regular folks can win a date with famous (or, more frankly, “semi-famous”) people when those celebrities pick themselves a blind date. It's similar to “The Voice” because it features sightless auditions and spinning chairs (sadly, though, not Cee-Lo), but instead of celebrity judges trying to blindly pick talented singers, the contestants are blindly trying to find … I don't know … attractive mates.
Here's the trailer that tells you next to nothing.
