VIDEO: Calvin Johnson smashes home run during Tigers batting practice

By Josh Katzowitz | NFL Writer
Calvin Johnson, as you know, is one of the top receivers in the game (Pete Prisco actually has him as the fourth-best player in his top-100). But apparently, Megatron also is a pull hitter with plenty of power to center field as well.

While taking batting practice Friday with the Detroit Tigers, Johnson smashed a shot over the wall in left field and nearly took one deep to the 420 sign in center.

"I told Delmon Young I would keep coming back until I hit one out, and I happened to hit one out today," a laughing Johnson said, via the Detroit News. "I'm still coming back, though."

Baseball apparently was his first love (and it's clear that Johnson knows what he's doing in the batter's box when Gene Lamont lobs him BP) as he patrolled center field and pitched in high school.

"I played all the way up to senior in high school," Johnson said. "But football kind of took over at that point."
