Ravens Terrell Suggs says he's 'off crutches' and 'beasting'

By Will Brinson | NFL Writer
Back at the beginning of May, reigning Defensive Player of the Year Terrell Suggs suffered a "partial" Achilles tear while reportedly playing pick-up basketball.

Suggs said then that he would "definitely" be back in November, despite plenty of skepticism that he would miss the entire 2012 season. Good news on his medical prognostication front: Suggs wrote on Facebook Tuesday that he's "off crutches" and "beasting."

This doesn't mean that Suggs is on schedule to be back and become the same impact player that he was in 2011 or anything. It's simply a step in his recovery.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times, Suggs had a doctor's appointment on Monday and will now begin "rehab exercises."

Naturally, the doctor believed Suggs was ready to move off of crutches, so that's a good thing. But how the All-Pro responds to rehab will really be telling as to whether or not Suggs can get back to form and make a difference in 2012.

At this point, anything the Ravens get from him next season has to be considered gravy.
