When LeBron James made an enemy of most of the free world by making The Decision, he made a list of the people who had doubted him. When the Heat won the NBA title last week, he didn't publicly mock those who had made him a villain, but it seemed clear he had been motivated by their negativity.
In that way, Titans running back Chris Johnson compared himself to James when he made an appearance Friday on “Rome.” Host Jim Rome asked if people were starting to “write him off” after he had an unimpressive 2011 campaign.
“A lot of people have written me off so far,” Johnson said. “It was a lot of situations. I came into camp a couple days before the first game. I still went over 1,000 yards but that's not a CJ2K year. A lot of people are going to write me off. But I feel just like LeBron, a lot of people will be back on the bandwagon.”
And who in the heck wrote you off?
“A lot of media guys and fans,” he said. “I'm pretty sure they'll be back.”
