Chad Ochocinco tweets to Roger Goodell: 'I will be a problem this year'

It appears the old Chad Ochocinco is back, at least when it comes to his brand. After a year in New England where individualism goes to die for the greater good, Ochocinco, now a member of the Dolphins, has shown glimpses of his once-loquacious self. It probably helps that he's had some recent success on the field. Granted, it's June and these are OTAs, but given he managed just 15 receptions with the Patriots in 2011, any news is good news at this point.

On Monday, Old Chad, who is again going with the surname "Johnson," had a message for NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

Chad has considered Goodell a father figure for years. We talked to him before the 2010 season and asked him about the commissioner. "You know what's funny? Goodell and I talk all the time," Ochocinco said.. "We talk all the time. I think I might be the only NFL player that has his personal cell phone number and e-mail."

Of course, Chad didn't need Goodell's number last year; he didn't play well enough to earn celebratory fines. And who knows if that changes in 2012. The Dolphins are a franchise in transition as they continue their search for a legitimate franchise quarterback, as they drafted the latest candidate, Ryan Tannehill, in the first round of the April draft. And without a consistent passing game, Ochocinco could continue his irrelevancy. After all, he struggled in New England with Tom Brady throwing him the ball. But it won't be from lack of confidence. Here's another tweet that you'd never see from Ochocinco during his stint with the Pats:

Phil McGeoghan is the Dolphins' wide receivers coach.

No matter what happens in 2012 (and there are plenty of folks who think Ochocinco's best days are behind him even if CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman considers him one of the league's good guys), the NFL is infinitely more enjoyable with Old Chad in it.
