Dolphins receiver Chad Johnson, arrested Saturday night for allegedly head-butting his wife, was released from jail a little after 1 p.m. ET Sunday, but he said nothing to a throng of reporters waiting outside the facility as he walked away.

According to the South Florida Sun Sentinel's Izzy Gould, the police report said that the argument between Johnson and Evelyn Lozada began in his Smart Car and he, without permission, grabbed her head and butted her, causing a three-inch laceration. The two were arguing over a receipt she found for a box of condoms.

Police said Johnson began screaming, “I don't give a f---. I don't give a f--- about my career." Lozada apparently then fled to a neighbor's house where she called police. Lozada later told police she wanted to file charges against Johnson.

Johnson, meanwhile, told police he yelled “F--- it” and then Lozada head-butted him, which caused the laceration. He said he then went for a drive to let Lozada calm herself.

According to the Sun Sentinel, Johnson's lawyer, Adam Swickle, said Johnson has not been charged. Instead, the state attorney's office will collect the evidence and then make a decision on whether to charge Johnson with a crime. The office has 21 days to do so.

Earlier Sunday, Johnson's bond was set at $2,500 and judge Mindy Solomon told him to stay away from Lozada until this matter is resolved.
