Coming off the news that James Harrison might need arthroscopic knee surgery, we now get an update on one of the Steelers most-important offensive players. The news there isn't so good either.

No. 1 running back Isaac Redman told reporters (via the Pittsburgh Post Gazette) before practice Wednesday that he was going to have an MRI performed on his groin Thursday morning, because it's been bothering him lately. He said he didn't think the discomfort would last into the season, but he also wanted to determine the problem.

"It hurts a little, it's tough to run right now, we'll see,” he said.

He also tried to practice Wednesday, and it did not go well for him. According to the Post Gazette, Redman “fell painfully on all fours as trainers attended” and he has not returned. That means the only healthy running backs practicing Wednesday were Baron Batch and Chris Rainey.

So much for running back depth, right?

Rashard Mendenhall is on the Physically Unable to Perform list, John Clay's season ended with a thigh injury, fullback David Johnson suffered a season-ending knee injury last week and backup running back Jonathan Dwyer is dealing with a bum shoulder.
