Earlier this week, Steelers receiver Antonio Brown predicted that Pittsburgh's offense would pick on Eagles cornerback Brandon Boykin when the two teams meet Sunday.
Then, he said something strange. Brown called Boykin “the candy bar.” Which, we presume, is an insult because Brown also said Boykin tends to get beat by opposing receivers.
So, Mr. Candy Bar, do you have a rebuttal?
“My phone was just blowing up after meetings,” Boykin said via Philly Mag. “No matter what happens with social media now, you'll find out anything. Actually, my brother talked to me earlier and he was more fired up about it than I was. He was like, ‘Man, I want you to go out there and' … I'm like, ‘Brother, just chill, it's all good.' Sunday we'll see.”
The real question here, though, is this: what does "the candy bar" mean (for the record, Brown termed Boykin a “Snickers”)? Does it mean Boykin is sweet and delicious? Does it mean too much Boykin is bad for you? Does Boykin cause acne? Love handles? Does it mean he's a snack that ultimately will leave you unsatisfied?
Not even Boykin was sure.
“I didn't even get it. I was confused,” said Boykin. ”It's good. It's doing nothing but giving me a little bit more attention. I have to go out and do what I do, and if I do it right, he's actually helped me in a sense. So tell him I appreciate it.”
