Vikings rookie safety and first-round pick Harrison Smith was ejected during the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Titans after making contact with an official. The incident took place with 11:30 to go in the first half and Minnesota leading 7-0.

Facing a third-and-19 from the Titans' 24-yard line, Tennessee quarterback Matt Hasselbeck threw an interception to cornerback Antoine Winfield. The play was over, and most of the players from both teams were jogging off the field. Smith and Titans wideout Nate Washington stayed put, jawing at one another until an official broke up the proceedings and tried to send Smith to the sidelines. That's when Smith pushed the official with his right arm and was promptly ejected.

Smith should expect the league to fine him as a result.
