Ravens LB Ray Lewis has torn triceps, team fears it could be long-term injury

Ravens' perennial Pro Bowl middle linebacker Ray Lewis was in visible pain on the sidelines late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Cowboys, helpless to do anything as Dallas' offense made its way up and down the field. The game was ultimately decided on a missed Cowboys field goal as time expired, but it's not all good news in the Charm City because Lewis, a 17-year veteran, has a torn right triceps.

Sources tell both CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman and CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora that the team fears that it could be a long-term injury, possibly keeping Lewis out the rest of the season.

This news comes on the heels of cornerback Lardarius Webb, one of the league's best young players, possibly suffering a torn ACL against the Cowboys, according to La Canfora. There's more: defensive lineman Haloti Ngata suffered a sprained MCL.

Meanwhile, defensive end Terrell Suggs, who has been sidelined all season with a partially torn Achilles, is targeting a Week 9 return to the field.
