NFL Coaching Rumor Roundup: Saturday, Jan. 5

You can follow the actual/official hirings and firings over at our 2012 Coaching Tracker, but we'll keep you up to date on all the rumors and speculation here (all times ET). Here are the rumors from Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Saturday, Jan. 5

9:53 p.m.
The lunch between the Eagles and Chip Kelly has turned into a loooong lunch. That's what the word from the Cleveland Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot, who writes that, as of 9:15 p.m. ET, Kelly was still meeting with Philadelphia and had yet to talk to the Browns again.
3:53 p.m.
The Bears interviewed Cowboys special teams coach Joe DeCamillis on Saturday for their head coaching job, according to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer.
3:51 p.m.
The Buffalo News reports that Lovie Smith's interview for the Bills coaching job "went very well" on Friday.
3:42 p.m.
According to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora, the Bears might be interested in talking to Syracuse coach Doug Marone. He's also been linked to the head coaching jobs in Philadelphia and San Diego.
3:38 p.m.
If NFL teams come at Notre Dame's Brian Kelly, he'll be ready, via CBSSports.com's Jeremy Fowler. "How can you not be [intrigued]?" Kelly asked Saturday.
3:31 p.m.
Via ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Browns have requested permission to interview 49ers assistant GM Tom Gamble and Chiefs director of pro personnel Ray Farmer for the Cleveland GM job.
2:20 p.m.
According to Fox Sports' Jay Glazer, the Panthers and Browns have requested permission from the Vikings to interview assistant GM George Paton for their GM openings. He's reportedly scheduled to meet with Carolina next week.
1:19 p.m.
According to the NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Bears will interview Montreal Alouettes coach Marc Trestman from the Canadian Football League. He and Bears quarterback Jay Cutler have worked together before.
1:16 p.m.
Ron Rivera officially is safe. He'll return to coach the Panthers in 2013.
11:33 a.m.
Looks like we can forget about Tom Gamble becoming the next Jaguars GM. That's because, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Gamble turned down a second interview in Jacksonville. Instead, he'll focus on getting the Jets GM job.
11:29 a.m.
The Eagles are expected to ask the Bengals for permission to interview offensive coordinator Jay Gruden, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

11:01 a.m.
With the Broncos earning a first-round playoff bye, Denver offensive coordinator Mike McCoy will interview with the Cardinals and the Bills on Saturday, according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora. The Bears will meet with McCoy on Sunday.

9:59 a.m.
The Philadelphia Daily News' Les Bowen is reporting that the Eagles will interview Syracuse coach Doug Marrone in Arizona this weekend, either before or after Chip Kelly.

9:56 a.m.
Via the Denver Post, new Chiefs coach Andy Reid is poised to hire former Vikings head coach Brad Childress -- who worked for Reid in Philadelphia from 1999-2005.

9:40 a.m.
Although it was reported Friday night that Oregon coach Chip Kelly was close to signing a contract with the Browns, CBS Sports' Mike Freeman reports that the Eagles are scheduled today to interview Kelly for their job. The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McClane reports that Kelly will make his decision Saturday night between the Browns, Eagles and Bills.
