Colts' Bruce Arians at hospital with illness, will miss game

The Colts showed great emotion last week when coach Chuck Pagano returned from leukemia treatments to lead the team in its regular-season finale. Now, the man who took over for Pagano during the season and guided the Colts to nine wins in his absence won't be at the wild-card game vs. the Ravens on Sunday because he's hospitalized with an illness.

According to the Indianapolis Star's Bob Kravitz, offensive coordinator Bruce Arians has been taken to a hospital. A Colts spokesman told Kravitz that Arians is “doing fine.” USA Today writes that it could be an inner-ear infection or a virus.

Arians missed practice on Thursday with an illness but wasn't expected then to miss the game. On The NFL Today, analyst Phil Simms said he talked to Arians on Friday night, and Arians told Simms that he was feeling better.

Without Arians, Clyde Christensen will be the team's offensive coordinator.
