Brendon Ayanbadejo apologizes for ripping Patriots on Twitter

By Will Brinson | NFL Writer

For whatever reason Sunday, Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo decided to take to Twitter and rip the Patriots offense.

Ayanbadejo called the New England's offense a "gimmick" because the Patriots run no-huddle plays. The ridiculousness of that statement aside, ripping the Pats publicly was pretty stupid. Mike Freeman reports the quotes are already circulating through New England's locker room, which is probably why Ayanbadejo apologized on Twitter Monday morning.

No doubt the rest of the Ravens came at him for the comments -- they were nonsensical and idiotically inflammatory. Tom Brady and the Patriots offense is an angry bear as it is; jabbing them with a stick is just stupid.

And Bill Belichick loves nothing more than bulletin board material. It's hard to find most of the time in New England, but Ayanbadejo provided the Patriots some before they'd even finished beating the Texans on Sunday night.

His apology is smart, but the damage from his statements is already done. If the Ravens aren't able to slow down New England Sunday, he's going to end up with some serious egg on his face.
