Michael Crabtree questioned about alleged sexual assault

By Josh Katzowitz | NFL Writer

49ers receiver Michael Crabtree has been questioned by San Francisco police about allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman in a hotel only hours after the 49ers' victory against the Packers last weekend, according to the San Francisco Chronicle and Associated Press.

Crabtree, though, is expected to play in Sunday's NFC title game vs. the Falcons in Atlanta.

Crabtree, 25, has not been charged or detained by police, but the newspaper writes that Crabtree was questioned with his lawyer present by detectives of the Special Victims Unit. Crabtree also has made himself available for further questions.

"We are aware of the allegation against Michael and understand that he has fully cooperated with authorities," 49ers general manager Trent Baalke said in a statement. "The 49ers take such matters very seriously. We will have no further comment at this time as the legal process is ongoing. Additional requests for comment should be directed to Michael's attorney.”
