Mike Tyson: 'I was a prostitute hunter'

Tyson's first Broadway play probably won't be called 'The Prostitute Hunter.' (Today.com)

Not breaking news: Mike Tyson is insane. Actual breaking news: Spike Lee will direct Tyson's debut on Broadway. These two seemingly incongruous items are related because Tyson and Lee appeared on "The Today Show" Tuesday to break the news and Tyson acted like an insane person.

Primarily, as you'll note from my headline (which, to be perfectly honest, kind of wrote itself), Tyson pointed out that he was "a prostitute hunter." Presumably Tyson did not literally go out with a gun and hunt prostitutes, Will Ferrell-style.

Instead, he's conjuring up a sexual metaphor of sorts. What's unclear, however, is whether Tyson's being literal when asked why he became a vegan. His answer is that he "just threw up the red, er, white flag" because there were "too many prison cells, too many jails, too many lawsuits, too many bankruptcies, too many women, too many venereal diseases, too many everything!"

Obviously making a lifestyle change with those, um, problems is totally understandable. But I'm not sure giving up meat is going to cure herpes. On the bright side, prostitutes can sleep safely tonight.
