Bears re-sign RB Bell as reinforcement for injured Forte after working out Slaton
Bears running back Matt Forte could end up missing a month or more because of an ankle injury suffered during Thursday's loss to the Green Bay Packers. As insurance, Chicago re-signed running back Kahlil Bell, according to a league source.
Bell was with the Bears in camp and was cut -- because, at least in part, of what was a high salary at the time. The club also worked out Steve Slaton, the former Texans and Dolphins back.
With Forte out, Michael Bush becomes the primary ball carrier.
