Kansas City Chiefs place DE Glenn Dorsey on injured reserve

The Kansas City Chiefs have placed former first-round pick Glenn Dorsey on IR, according to a league source.

Dorsey has likely played his last game for the team with his season now over. The former fifth overall pick (2008) displayed great pass rushing ability in college at LSU and transitioned to end for the Chiefs. Though he has yet to reach his potential, he could be an intriguing prospect on the free-agent market.

The sides are not working on an extension. Dorsey, 27, would be one of the younger linemen available on the open market. He makes $6.4 million this season, the final year of his rookie deal. Kansas City plays Pittsburgh on Monday night.
