Steelers free agency rewind, fast-forward

Rewind: CB William Gay reunited in Arizona with DC Ray Horton (ex-Steelers assistant) and assistant Deshea Townsend (ex-Steelers CB). That leaves T Max Starks as the only other free-agent who isn't expected to return to the Steelers. In the end, the Steelers shooed away -- with the releases of LB James Farrior , DE Aaron Smith and OG Chris Kemoeatu -- more than they lost. Fast-forward: The Steelers remain in conversation with restricted free-agent Mike Wallace, although he appears as if he's going nowhere after their $2.7 million tender and a high-priced open WRs market. There remains the formality about signing Charlie Batch and/or Byron Leftwich as the backup QB and possibly WR Jerricho Cotchery.
