Carroll has history with DE Irvin

West Virginia DE/OLB Bruce Irvin, selected 15th overall by the Seahawks had a relationship with Pete Carroll dating to his time in junior college at Mount San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif. Carroll recruited Irvin while at USC and had extensive background on him. “The fact that I've known him for so long and have background with the kid -- I know what he's been through,” Carroll said. “… We thought we had special information, and we're really excited about this pick in a huge way.”
