Minneapolis city council passes stadium proposal in preliminary vote The last step for approval of the Vikings stadium plan is for it to pass the Minneapolis City Council, and in a preliminary vote on Thursday, the council passed the measure 7-6. The proposal calls for the city to pay $150 million of the proposed $975 million stadium. The city council must still ratify the vote in a formal meeting on Friday.
