Ravens sign veteran LB Ricky Brown

Looking to add depth at linebacker, the Ravens signed veteran Ricky Brown on Wednesday, according to his agent David Canter.

Brown spent the majority of his career with the Oakland Raiders, debuting there after being undrafted out of Boston College in 2006. Brown worked his way into the Raiders' linebacker rotation and saw considerable playing time for a while.

Brown was briefly with New England in 2011, but was released prior to the season's start. He re-signed with Oakland but spent the majority of the year on injured reserve due to a concussion sustained against the Jets in Week 3.

With Baltimore, Brown figures to be a special team contributor and a backup at linebacker if he makes the 53-man roster. In six NFL seasons, Browns' recorded 102 tackles and three forced fumbles.
