LG Matt Slauson has taken a pay cut, according to The Star-Ledger. Slauson will now make $1.05 million in 2012, which is fully guaranteed. He was originally set to earn $1.308 million.

When Slauson, who has been the full-time starter since 2010, arrived at training camp in July, he was told that he would be competing for the starting left guard spot with OL Vlad Ducasse. On Wednesday, coach Rex Ryan said that Slauson had, for all intents and purposes, won the competition and would be the starting left guard in 2012.

Slauson, who is in the last year of his original rookie contract is still hoping for a new deal.
