Undrafted rookie free agent RB Nate Eachus played his way onto the final roster with back-to-back impressive performances in the final two preseason games, leaving the Chiefs with five running backs on the 53-man roster.
Eachus' role could change as the Chiefs didn't keep a FB, a position he could slide over to. The Chiefs also kept four tight ends with Steve Maneri, who converted from offensive tackle, making the roster. Look for Kansas City to regularly line up two TEs instead of playing a fullback.
The Chiefs kept 54 players after their final cuts on Friday, although LB Tamba Hali does not count against the final 53 count because he's suspended for the opener against Atlanta. The Chiefs will have to trim the roster by one when Hali returns.
