Ravens LT Bryant McKinnie released? Talks ongoing; it's not over yet

By Jason Butt | CBSSports.com

With less than a week before the Ravens open against Cincinnati, starting left tackle Bryant McKinnie is, at least temporarily, no longer with the team.

McKinnie initially told radio station WNST in a text message that he's been released, though he has since backtracked, saying his stay in Baltimore isn't over yet.

The issue of the day began when McKinnie tweeted, "Decision made! I'm gone!" A source within the Ravens organization could not immediately confirm that McKinnie was released. No official transaction has happened and talks are ongoing between the two parties.

The Ravens wanted to restructure his base salary of $3.2 million for 2012. It's apparent McKinnie isn't pleased, since this has the potential to create problems with someone who's already having half of his wages garnished due to a loan McKinnie took out during the lockout that he failed to repay.

If McKinnie is officially released, Michael Oher will move over to left tackle. Rookie Kelechi Osemele would then replace Oher at right tackle.
