WR Randy Moss is one of the most talented and most enigmatic players to ever don a Vikings jersey, and on Sunday he returns to the Metrodome in a different jersey for the first time in a regular season game.

Moss returned in 2010 in a Vikings jersey for a second go-round with the team, but that stint lasted only four games -- and some fans were ready to see him go. But plenty more will be donning their own No. 84 jerseys on Sunday when Moss and the San Francisco 49ers come to town. On Wednesday, Moss spoke to reporters about what he thinks of the homecoming.

How many Randy Moss jerseys will you see in the Metrodome this weekend?

“I don't know. I'm looking forward to just hearing the Metrodome rock. Now I'm on with the away team, and I look forward to a good game.”

Are you interested to see what kind of reaction you'll get?

“Ahh, no, not really. I'm a 49er. I think my Minnesota Viking days are over. Just going in as a 49er, just to have some success and have a good game. That's all I plan to do.”

Did you reflect on your days with the Vikings at all this week?

“I just think my focus now is just playing for the 49ers and being the best 49er I can be. I was drafted by coach Dennis Green and am still appreciative to this day that he gave me an opportunity with all the nonsense and BS that was said during the draft. He gave me a chance, so I'm still thankful to Denny Green for giving me a chance to showcase my talent. As far as the past, it's the past. I just look forward, not backward.”

What in Minnesota made you the receiver you are?

“I just think being able to be around guys that had a name. To see Randall McDaniel, to see John Randle go to the Hall of Fame, I played with those guys. I've been in the locker room, I've won with those guys, I've lost with those guys. To be able to practice with them day in and day out and then for them to receive such a prestigious honor as making it to the Hall of Fame, it felt good because I knew the guys, not personally, but kind of personally as teammates. I think that's the biggest thing that really stands out for me is now the guys making it to the Hall of Fame, either playing with them or playing against them.”

What do you think about Vikings WR Percy Harvin?

Percy is a heck of a receiver, a heck of a football player. Real hard-nosed, very tough. That's one thing that I really noticed about him when I was up there. Just how he goes about his business. He blocks, he runs after the catch very hard. You can't really tell if he's a receiver or a running back when he touches the ball. I'm a big fan of Percy's. I was a big fan of his when he was at the University of Florida and that's not going to stop now. Like I said, there's still a couple guys over there … I played with Adrian Peterson in my second stint, but like I said, history is history, the past is the past and I'm a 49er now, so I just look for what I can do for this team.”
