Rookie Vick Ballard will get his first career start Sunday against the Jets.
Arians was short on details, but said that Brown has had surgery and is expected to miss the next "two or three" games. Brown apparently hurt his knee, according to Arians, on the last offensive play. It's unclear if that was the 2-point conversion, which Brown ran in, or a play previous.
Brown is coming off his best game of the season, a 17-carry 84-yard performance in Sunday's win over the Packers. He now has 239 yards on 60 carries and a touchdown this season.
Ballard, a rookie from Mississippi State, has seen plenty of action so far this season, though he hasn't been terribly effective, rushing 21 times for 42 yards. Veteran Mewelde Moore is also expected to see time, and second-year back Delone Carter will likely be active for the first time this season.
