Lee, who went on injured reserve last week and is out for the rest of the season, is expected to make a full recovery from the injury. He is hopeful to be at 100 percent by the start of the offseason conditioning program next spring, and be ready for all minicamp and OTA practices.
As expected, Lee was on the sidelines for Sunday's game with the Giants, while on crutches. He said he would like to make some road trips, even though he's on IR. But Lee said last week he wasn't sure if he'll be cleared to travel.
“If I disconnect, I'm not part of the team at all,” Lee said. “If I can help in a small way, it'll still help. I think this defense will continue to get better with or without me. I want to be a part of it.”
Lee still easily leads the Cowboys in tackles with 77. DeMarcus Ware is second with 46.
Lee has also expressed his excitement to see both Dan Connor and Bruce Carter in the middle. Carter had a nice game against the Giants, making seven tackles for the third straight week. Connor didn't make it through the second quarter before suffering a stinger in his neck. He is going to be questionable to play this week against the Falcons.
