The Jets came into St. Louis desperate for a win and they got it. Against a less-than-stellar Rams offense and defense, the Jets were able to control the game, establish a rhythm and get their first win in a month. The "ground and pound" running game was back and they got
pressure on the quarterback, which is something they've wanted to do more of all season.

Offense: B+

The “ground and pound” showed up. The Jets were able to run the ball effectively using all three of their running backs – Shonn Greene, Bilal Powell and Joe McKnight. Powell got the first two touchdowns of his career. QB Mark Sanchez managed the game efficiently and threw no interceptions. Previous game's grade: F

Defense: A-

The defense pressured Rams QB Sam Bradford for four solid quarters and sacked him once. They also had two forced fumbles and three takeaways. They contained RB Steven Jackson and allowed just two touchdowns, both from WR Brandon Gibson, covered both times by CB Antonio Cromartie. DL Muhammad Wilkerson gets better and better, moving all over the field and being in the right place at the right time. Previous game's grade: B+

Special teams: B-

They did some good things, including recovering St. Louis's onsides kick. However, they allowed another blocked field goal and CB Kyle Wilson muffed a punt. Previous game's grade: C

Coaching: B+

Big improvement from last week. The play calling on offense was effective. They used QB Tim Tebow less (no wildcat plays and only one yard rushing from under center), but allowed Sanchez to get in, and stay in a rhythm. The defense was prepared for almost everything the Rams showed them. Special teams was once again spotty. Previous game's grade: D-
