Cowboys WR Dez Bryant tweeted that he's having surgery Tuesday on his fractured left index finger.
The third-year wideout suffered the injury Dec. 9 against the Bengals, but finished strong anyway with 17 catches for 354 yards and three touchdowns in the final three games.
The volatile Bryant had his best season, tying for 10th in receptions (92), was sixth in receiving yards (1,392) and third in receiving TDs (12).
The season didn't start smoothly. Bryant got into a domestic dispute with his mother in July, the latest in a series of police-blotter incidents.
So the Cowboys, fed up with Bryant's immaturity, imposed a special set of rules for him. They included a midnight curfew, no drinking alcohol, no strip clubs and a requirement that Bryant be accompanied by security personnel at all times.
Bryant (6-foot-2, 220 pounds), who turned 24 in November, responded with easily his best season. The chemistry between Bryant and QB Tony Romo grew in 2012, and it was one reason Romo was so optimistic about the future despite Dallas missing the playoffs for the third-straight year.

Monday night, referring to the surgery, Bryant tweeted: "Well I'm about to play black ops 2 for the last time in a long time lol."
