Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson should be the NFL MVP this year, according to a completely unscientific Twitter poll by CC Sabathia.

Sabathia, the New York Yankees veteran pitcher, doesn't have to report to spring training until February, so he's passing the time like the rest of us: by asking people questions on Twitter.

On Tuesday, Sabathia asked his almost-300,000 followers who they thought the NFL MVP was this year: Broncos QB Peyton Manning or Peterson. Like the rest of the country, Sabathia's followers seemed split.

With 428 retweets, Peterson pulled in just over half of the 795 votes that had been cast by Tuesday evening. Manning pulled in 340 votes, while 27 wayward souls believed that someone other than Manning or Peterson should win the MVP award.

The NFL MVP award will be handed out in a two-hour televised special that will air on Feb. 2 on CBS.
