Drew Brees is the newest member of the NFC Pro Bowl roster. The Saints announced that Brees will replace Redskins QB Robert Griffin III for the Jan. 27 NFL all-star game. The roster move was necessitated after RG3 underwent reconstructive knee surgery on Wednesday.
The selection makes Brees the third New Orleans player on the NFC roster. He joins G Jahri Evans and P Thomas Morstead.
Besides Brees, the other quaterbacks on the NFC roster are Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers and Atlanta's Matt Ryan.
The trip to the Pro Bowl will be the seventh of Brees' career and his sixth with New Orleans. Brees threw 43 touchdown passes in 2012, but also threw a league-high 19 interceptions.
