After being fired by the Cowboys on Jan. 8, former Dallas DC Rob Ryan predicted he would only be out of a job "for like five minutes."
That five minutes has turned into well over a week, but Ryan may not be out of job much longer. According to the NFL Network, Ryan is on his way to St. Louis where he'll interview with the Rams about their vacant defensive coordinator position on Saturday.
The Rams are still looking to replace former DC Gregg Williams, who never actually coached in a game for them. Williams was hired by St. Louis in January 2012, however, two months later, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Williams for the 2012 season for his part in the Saints bounty scandal.
With Williams sidelined for the 2012 season, the Rams used a coordinator-by-committee system to get through the year.
Williams and his son Blake -- a Rams linebackers coach -- were officially let go by St. Louis on Jan. 2.
The Rams defense actually had a statistically better year than Ryan's Dallas defense. St. Louis finished the 2012 regular season 14th in total defense, while the Cowboys finished five spots back at 19.
