Tom Brady bows out of Pro Bowl, Andrew Luck steps in

Rookie Andrew Luck is taking Tom Brady's spot in Sunday's Pro Bowl, according to multiple reports.

Brady was among five Patriots who withdrew from the game Monday, citing injuries. The other Patriots were Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski, guard Logan Mankins and nose tackle Vince Wilfork.

Of course, all but Gronkowski (fractured arm) would have played in Super Bowl XLVII had New England beaten Baltimore.

Luck set a rookie record with 4,734 passing yards while leading the Colts to the playoffs.

Texans tight end Owen Daniels, Bills running back C.J. Spiller and Broncos wideout Demaryius Thomas were among those added to the AFC team.

The Pro Bowl kicks off at 7 p.m. ET Sunday (NBC) in Honolulu.
