Twenty-six students from Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., will perform America the Beautiful at Super Bowl XLVII, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy confirmed to USA Today.
The Sandy Hook choir will be at the game to honor the memory of the 26 students and faculty who tragically died on Dec. 14 in the second deadliest school shooting in U.S. history.
The performance will be broadcast live on CBS and will take place before Alicia Keys sings the National Anthem.

This isn't the first time the NFL has reached out to students and families involved in the Sandy Hook tragedy. Each team in the league held a moment of silence in the games immediately following the shooting. Teams also wore "S.H.E.S" decals on their helmets to show support for the Newtown community.
Individual players, including the Giants' Victor Cruz, reached out personally to the affected families. Cruz met with the family of 6-year-old victim Jack Pinto, who was buried in Cruz's No. 80 jersey.
The Sandy Hook choir has made name for itself. The group performed Somewhere Over the Rainbow with Grammy-nominated singer Ingrid Michaelson to mark the one-month anniversary of the shooting.
