One of the perks of winning the Super Bowl for the Baltimore Ravens is they get to host the NFL's 2013 regular-season opener.
But that perk could potentially turn into a headache though, thanks to a possible scheduling conflict with the Baltimore Orioles.
The NFL opener is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 5, the same day the Orioles are slated to host the White Sox. The kickoff time for the NFL opener generally has been 8:30 p.m. ET while first pitch for the Orioles-White Sox game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET.
The Ravens are aware of the situation and have already contacted their MLB counterparts, according to the Baltimore Sun.
"We've made contact with the Orioles," Ravens team president Dick Cass said. "We recognize the issue. We are confident we can work it out with the Orioles."
If the Ravens and Orioles weren't able to work things out, that would cause some serious parking and traffic problems at the Camden Yards Sports Complex, which houses both M&T Bank Stadium and Camden Yards.
Possible solutions to the problem include the Orioles moving their game to earlier in the day or the NFL moving the season opener to Wednesday, Sept. 4. The league moved the 2012 regular-season opener to a Wednesday to avoid a conflict with President Barack Obama's speech at the Democratic National Convention.
The Ravens don't know who their opponent will be in the 2013 opener, but the Steelers, Patriots, Packers and Texans seem to all be strong candidates.
