Reports are circulating that the Minnesota Vikings will look to trade wide receiver Percy Harvin after the dynamic player has become something of a headache. But reigning MVP Adrian Peterson doesn't see it as such a good idea.
Peterson appeared on KFAN on Tuesday with Minnesota play-by-play man Paul Allen.
“To be honest with you, I don't know if we will [trade Harvin] or not,” Peterson said. “But me, individually, and giving you my opinion, I wouldn't trade him. I wouldn't trade him. But that's just me and my opinion. To do the things that he's able to do ... I don't think there will be a player able to do it better than him. Ever."
Harvin, a speedster who can make plays in the offense and the return game, has had a few run-ins with coach Leslie Frazier, eventually leading the playmaker to be placed on injured reserve.
Regardless, Peterson seems to believe the benefits outweigh the risks with bringing Harvin back.
“I haven't really had the opportunity to talk to him much,” Peterson said. “But I always look at what you can get from a person, and I know it comes with, 'OK, you gotta deal with this, or deal with that,' but I always feel like that person can overcome whatever it is that they might be struggling with.”
Whatever struggles Harvin might be enduring are up for interpretation. Still, Peterson makes it clear that he feels Harvin belongs with the Vikings. Who knows what effect that will have on the front office, if any.
