The New York Jets have made it clear that they would like to re-sign safety LaRon Landry, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.
Jets have had discussions & made it known that they'd like re-sign S LaRon Landry. Unknown at this pt how much he'll command on open market

Landry, 28, is reportedly searching for a contract worth $6 million -- after making $3.5 million in 2012 -- which puts the Jets in a precarious position. That's a lot to pay for a safety who just finished his first full season without missing any time due to injury since 2008, but, with reports that the team is actively shopping cornerback Darrelle Revis, Landry could end up quite valuable to the New York secondary.
There's no doubt Landry was good in 2012. He racked up 100 tackles and two picks, and made his first career Pro Bowl. But, with other defensive back options floating around the free agency market -- Jairus Byrd, Dashon Goldson and Louis Delmas, to name a few -- Landry's price tag may not make much sense. Especially if a more highly regarded safety signs for less than $6 million.
In sum, the Jets will have to decide just how much Landry is worth.
