2013 NFL Combine: McCalebb's 4.21 40-yard dash leads all performers

INDIANAPOLIS -- Auburn running back Ontario McCalebb showed off his speed during the 40-yard dash on Sunday, posting an unofficial time of 4.21 on this second attempt. It was a slight improvement over his first run (4.27).

If McCalebb’s time holds up, it would be the fastest of the day, surpassing Texas wide receiver Marquise Goodwin (4.27).

McCalebb, who measured at 5-10 and 168 pounds, was mostly a back-up running back and return specialist for the Tigers through college. He finished his Auburn career 2,586 rushing yards with at least 565 yards in each of his four seasons in college. McCalebb also had two career kickoff returns for touchdowns, averaging 25.7 yards per return.

Although his lack of size and bulk will limit his ceiling at the next level, he reemphasized on Sunday that he has more than enough speed to make a difference in the NFL. Similar to Denver Broncos specialist Trindon Holliday, McCalebb might not be much more than a return man in the pros, but he has the speed to create with the ball in his hands.
