2014 NFL Draft: Top-rated RB Ka'Deem Carey headed to NFL
Arizona junior Ka'Deem Carey, NFLDraftScout.com's top-rated running back this year, announced he will enter the 2014 NFL Draft.
Carey is the top-rated running back and the No. 41 overall prospect, according to NFLDraftScout.com's ratings.
Carey, 5-feet-10 and 207 pounds, racked up 1,885 yards on 349 carries in 2013. He also scored 19 touchdowns and averaged 157.1 yards per game to finish second in the nation.
Carey runs with good power between the tackles and has excellent vision to see holes and make a strong cut. There are some questions about his maturity and straight-line speed, both of which he'll have an opportunity to address at next month's Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.
“I’m excited for the next phase of my career and to enter the NFL Draft,” Carey said in a statement. “I want to thank God, my family, Coach (Rich) Rodriguez, Coach (Calvin) Magee and all of my coaches for everything they’ve done for me. My time playing football for Arizona will always be very special to me and I want to thank the fans and the Tucson community for supporting me throughout my career. The future of Arizona football is bright. Bear Down.”
Carey leaves as Arizona's all-time leading rusher. He will face competition from fellow juniors Tre Mason from Auburn and Washington's Bishop Sankey to be the first running back selected in May.
