2014 NFL Draft: Manziel not ruling out two more years at A&M

By Jeff Reynolds | NFLDraftScout.com

Johnny Football might be the BMOC for another year at Texas A&M, but it's entirely plausible -- he claimed Wednesday -- he'll stay in College Station beyond the 2013 season.

In an appearance on the Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday, Johnny Manziel sidestepped questions about returning to school when asked if he'd be in the 2014 NFL Draft.

"For now I'm enjoying every second I'm at A&M," he said. "I'm not in any rush to make a decision like that."

A redshirt sophomore who will be eligible to enter to the 2014 NFL Draft, Manziel said the primary focus at present is winning a national championship and that it will "never be easy" to say goodbye to Aggieland. And sure, another Heisman Trophy would be great, too.

Pressed about questions from NFL scouts about his arm strength and if he's more than a running quarterback, Manziel said he can throw the ball about 70 yards in the air and doesn't worry that his arm strength isn't adequate.

"I feel like I'm able to do a lot of things at the quarterback position," he said. "I can't come in and out-throw everybody."

He will take out an insurance policy -- the details are being worked out by A&M and Manziel's family -- to protect himself from injury. There are examples everywhere, but noteworthy to Manziel is that Heisman winner Robert Griffin III tore his ACL in the third game of his second season as a starter at Baylor.

Manziel said he runs the 40-yard dash in about 4.5 seconds but hasn't been timed recently. In what promises to be a larger argument down the line if he leaves school in the next 12 months, Manziel said "I don't know if I could keep up with Jadeveon Clowney."

Clowney, the No. 1-rated prospect by NFLDraftScout.com in the 2015 class, recently timed 4.75 in the 40 at 6-6, 266 pounds. He's also eligible -- and a Brinks Truck lock -- to leave South Carolina after 2013.
