2013 NFL Draft: Carradine to work out for NFL teams

By Dane Brugler | NFLDraftScout.com Senior Analyst

Florida State defensive end Cornelius “Tank” Carradine burst onto the college football landscape in 2012, but his senior season was cut short due to an ACL injury against Florida on Nov. 24. He has been unable to work out for NFL teams during the pre-draft process due to the rehab process but plans to do a full workout on Saturday in Cincinnati.

According to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee, the 49ers are one of the dozens of teams expected to be in attendance. San Francisco currently has the 31st pick in the first round of the draft.

At the combine in February, Carradine said he was a “month ahead of schedule” in his rehab and hoped to work out for scouts prior to the 2013 NFL Draft. He did a little bit of running at the Florida State pro day in March, but is finally near 100 percent healthy.

Entering the season, Carradine was a back-up on the depth chart, but an injury to Brandon Jenkins moved Tank into the starting line-up. He started 11 games and finished second on the team in tackles (80), tackles for loss (13) and sacks (11). Based on talent, Carradine is a first round prospect, but the knee durability has been a question mark.
