04/30/2012 - A closer look at the Steelers' picks: Round 7/231 - Toney Clemons, WR, 6-2, 210, Colorado...Big and fast, late bloomer who has shot at No. 5 on team. - The Sports Xchange
Strengths: Good size and well-built frame with very good muscle definition. Effective catching the ball in stride and making things happen after the catch. Good focus and extension, snatching balls away from his frame. Nice job vertically, tracking deep passes. Very good footwork along the sideline with natural coordination and agility. Productive when on the field and is a threat at all levels of the field. Quickly gets to top speed and has some explosive qualities. Versatile with experience on special teams, used as a gunner on punt coverage.
Weaknesses: Not a polished route runner and needs to learn how to do the little things better. Needs to stay football-focused and commit himself to improving. Needs to get stronger and isn't as powerful as he looks, getting pushed around by smaller defensive backs. Has some questionable work ethic traits and needs to prove he's devoted to the game. Underachieves at times and needs to give full effort at all times. Didn't lead the team in catches last season.
