- Lehigh University's Ryan Spadola will get a chance to make an impression on one of the NFL's biggest stages. The senior wide receiver has been invited to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine Feb. 20-26 in Indianapolis, according to a message by Lehigh coach Andy Coen on Twitter. He will be the second Mountain Hawk to attend the event in three years, the other being offensive lineman Will Rackley, who was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Spadola, who is second in Lehigh history in career receiving yardage and receptions, caught 57 passes for 851 yards and four touchdowns during a senior season that was hampered by a bout with mononucleosis. During his junior season, the Howell, N.J., native set a single-season Patriot League record with 1,614 receiving yards, and had 11 touchdowns on 96 catches. - The Express Times, Lehigh Valley Live
