Full Nick Mondek News Wire
Strengths: Good size with adequate length and growth potential. Knee bender and looks fluid in his movements, staying light on his feet to cover a lot of ground. Looks natural in space with good body control and coordination. Mobile and looks natural blocking on the move. Sets up in a flash, getting into his stance quickly and squaring his shoulders to the rusher. Naturally strong and works hard in the weight room. Received rave reviews from coaches after he picked up his new position last season and developed quickly. Versatile experience at right tackle and right guard. Team-first player and loves football.
Weaknesses: Limited experience on the offensive line, moving to tackle full time in 2010. Needs to provide more of a pop at the point of attack and doesn't effectively use his limbs, allowing rushers into his body. Will leave his feet and allow his shoulders to hunch over his feet, falling off balance. Still raw at the position and needs to develop his awareness to recognize extra rushers or stunts. Functional power is a question mark, doesn't look nearly as strong on the field as his 30 reps of 225 would indicate. Needs time and probably won't be able to contribute in a NFL line-up right away.
